While recovering from my recent mishap with the cargo hatch of my Cobra Mk III, I found myself with a lot of time to sit around… I finally had the time to go through my family archive, and it seems that most of what I knew about my family is wrong!

I had always been told we had been Bounty Hunting in Lave for multiple generations, since at least 3200, but I now know that to be a lie: I found my grandfather’s Alliance paperwork, labeling him as a conspirator against the Federation on behalf of the Empire, long before the Alliance ever truly existed.

Finding both the major superpowers somewhat disgusting, I find this pretty hard to accept… I’d been told we were an Alliance family. I decided to spend some time trading my way towards Alioth, to see if I can find out more…

Alioth System Info
The famous capital of the Alliance of Independent Systems. The system was the subject of many battles between the Federation and the Empire over many years, until in 3230 the Alliance was formed in a massed insurrection against both invaders.

Upon arrival in the local area I found that a lot of the Alliance factions were quite friendly towards me, some even considered me an ally. This must be due to my work in ridding the Zaonce System of a large number of criminal elements in and around resource extraction sites. This made my work to get an Alioth System Permit almost too easy, they basically threw it at me the second time I visited a bulletin board.

Oh, and did I mention that I reached Competent combat ranking? Yes, that happened shortly before my injury… I got too distracted to mention it… Anyway, now that I am here I guess I don’t understand what the Federation and Empire were fighting over: Alioth doesn’t look that spectacular to me.

Maybe I’ll stick around and see if anything comes up, or if I can find out any more information about my grandfather’s actions during the 3200-3230 time period… I was once told he used to fly an Imperial Courier, I’m hoping that doesn’t mean what I now think it means…
