After my class win at Bathurst, I moved onto Silverstone Circuit for round two of my offline championship.
This race, I decided against pitting and would try to make the whole 48-minute race on a single set of tires. The A.I. were also on the same strategy.
Race setup:
– 48 minute timed race
– 30x time accelaration (2 minutes realtime shows 1 hour lighting changes)
– 36 entries (including me)
– GT1 Nissan GT-R, GT2 Corvette C6.R, GT3 Chevy Camaro, GT4 Nissan 470z classes
I put in a basic qualifying lap, figuring I’d still be able to compete for the lead in the race regardless of starting position. I ended up 8th in GT2, 22nd overall.
My start was clean and I moved up to 7th-place pretty easily, then 6th later in the lap.
My main battles during the race were with the GT3 cars, who qualified on a similar pace to the GT2 cars again, but by lap 3 I had caught and passed for 5th-place in the GT2 class.
Lap 8 saw my first attempts to pass my main rival in the race. I ended up having a great race long battle with him, but managed to get by him and into 4th later in the lap.
Later on in the race I lost positions, gained them back, had a super side-by-side battle, ending up with a 4th-place finish after 24 laps (I finished 1 lap down).
