Elite Journal: Thor’s Eye Black Hole
Feb 27, 2015

Having previously visited Pipe and IC 4604 Nebulas, I continued onwards towards Lagoon Nebula, but before I got there I found myself in Thor’s Eye, a system with a Black Hole – 3400LY away from where I started this section of the journey.

The first 1000LY from IC 4604 were largely uneventful, but I did find out about ‘space highways’, which seem to be a natural phenomenon where the arrangement of stars within the galaxy means that the majority of ships heading in a vaguely similar direction end up being guided through the same stars when choosing quickest route.

First 1000LY away from IC 4604.

In my second night of travel, I made it another 1000 LY, all the way to the M20 Sector. Nothing terribly noteworthy happened.

Another 1000LY into M20 Sector.

Then came the larger journey of 1400LY from M20 Sector all the way to Thor’s Eye. I did encounter some interesting planets along the way, too!

I found two unexplored and unclaimed Earth-like worlds!

As if finding two unclaimed and unexplored Earth-like worlds wasn’t enough, the Black Hole in the Thor’s Eye system was amazing to see. Video edit of the journey below!

Next? Onwards to Lagoon Nebula!
